D & E has always been a quality driven shop. However, we've decided to take it one step further! We have implemented a new process that will continuously improve our ability to produce a quality and value driven part. How?

1. First Article of Inspection-Your part will be inspected at each major machining step.
2. Close Tolerance Final Inspection- If a drawing calls out a tolerance closer than .003, more sophisticated measuring devices will be used during inspection.
3. Inspect Part Numbering- If stamping or labeling your part is a requirement, two machinists must inspect the stamping or labeling to ensure the correct number is on the part.

All these requirements are noted on the Traveler, the document that goes out to the shop and follows the part through each step. Each machinists must initial the Traveler after an inspection is completed. If an error still slips through, we issue a Corrective Action Report to stop future errors.

These processes will make D & E a more productive & reliable machine shop.
