Welding Fixture

  1. Customer: Robot Manufacturer
  2. What Does it do:  Holds clips for refrigerator door handle in place to be welded by a robot.
  3. How is it used: Used in a production environment
    in a robot welding cel.l
  4. Why was D & E picked to make it: It was an experimental fixture that needed to be engineered
    and built at the same time.
  5. How did D & E solve the customer's problem: We were able to supply a functional fixture that saved several thousand dollars in up front engineering costs.
  6. What was special about it: It was a unique locating device with special clamping that allowed
    for multiple part loading instead of one part loading.
  7. How long did it take D & E: 3-4 weeks
    eliminating the 6-8 week engineering time.
Carpet Stretcher/Clamps
  1. Customer: Local manufacturer of auto interior carpet
  2. What does it do: Holds and stretches sheets of un molded carpet and delivers it to the mold.
  3. How is it used: It's used in a combination with carousel molding machines.
  4. Why was D & E picked to make it: D & E had
    the expertise to redesign the existing clamps and also had the experience from designing similar products.
  5. How did we solve the customer's problem:
    D & E was able to supply the frame and clamp system much faster and less expensive than the Japanese manufacturer.
  6. What was special about it: This item is unique
    to their molding system.
Toilet Seat Cooling Tank
  1. Customer: Injection Molding Manufacturer
  2. What does it do: Holds injection molded parts in fixed position to allow them to cool without warping or bending.
  3. How is it used:Parts were placed in cooling fixture when removed from mold.
  4. Why was D & E picked to make it: This was a unique item that required creativity to come up with
    a design and fast delivery.
  5. How did we solve the customer's problem:
    D & E provided a simple, inexpensive cooling
    tank and fixture.
  6. What was special about it: There has never been
    a requirement to cool a toilet seat. It was a high end, low quantity item that required special attention.
  7. How long did it take us: 2 weeks
Lance Crane
  1. Description: Rebuild
  2. Customer: Fabricating Company
  3. What does it do: It transfers parts vertically.
  4. How is it used: It transfers pipe from ground level to the third floor in an industrial steel environment.
  5. Why was D & E picked to rebuild it: D & E built
    a new one prior, so we were familiar with the parts and assembly.
  6. How did D & E solve the customer's problem:
    D & E saved the customer 50 % by rebuilding
    rather than making.
